A trumpeter and composer, Sébastien Blanchon won the “Best Original Soundtrack” award in 2025 at the Life Beyond Life Festival in Turin for Bertrand Guerry’s *Le Bonheur est une bête sauvage *. He also composed the original music for two short films: Histoires d’un chaman Miao by Nicolas Vimenet and Sauve-moi by Rabah Brahimi, and co-wrote with Agoria the music for the documentaries Vape Wave and Mère Océan (additional music) by Jan Kounen.

Known as N’zeng for nearly 30 years, his live performance experience brings an indie touch to his film scores. Noted for his ability to compose hybrid music (trumpet, strings, and electronic elements), his influences are wide-ranging: jazz, electronic, hip-hop/trip-hop, as well as funk and soul. His compositions showcase a talent for atmospheric and melodic tracks.

His recent compositions are steeped in a love of cinema, as heard on albums such as *Alien Suites* (based on *Alien*) and *Mustang Force*, in which he pays tribute to the soundtracks of Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone.

Since 2016, N’zeng has been performing live and touring with L’Entourloop (3 albums). Prior to that, he collaborated with other artists, including Rone, Baxter Dury, Gorillaz, Beth Gibbons (Portishead), and Charlotte Savary (Wax Taylor) on the album *N’zeng – The Trip*.

He owes his stage debut to the band Le Peuple de l’Herbe, with whom he performed for 15 years (6 albums), playing nearly 700 concerts in France and abroad.

Today, he is working on his next EP and regularly composes music for dance performances and shows such as “Hôtel Bellevue” and “18’34’’” by Thomas Guerry (Cie Arcosm), “Tapis” (Compagnie Corps Éveillés), and “Soutenir” by David Drouard (D.A.D.R. Cie).

Sébastien Blanchon began playing the cornet at the age of 8. In 1997, he won a gold medal in trumpet at the Conservatoire National de Lyon before embarking on the performing career for which he is known today.
